::     cain is literally the definition of loose cannon .   he’s a detective  ,   but technically isn’t involved in the police force .  he plays by his own rules ,   which are ..  questionable at times .  he’ll take bribes ( money ,  favors ,  even brownie points with a certain faction at times ) and will definitely stab the law in the back at times .  he bends the rules so hard that they’re practically broken .  it’s hard to believe that he still has his job ,  but he’s just such a good detective that they can’t fire him .  he has genuine gifts ,  but barely ever uses them because he likes  ‘ playing with his food ’ .
