@shooketha posted a vent about prize votes in awards and i completely agree with it and even recall venting about years ago in my personal book. not surprised that it's still going on. if you don't know, prize votes aka VOTE TRADING in exchange for prizes or payments in contests, cover shops, etc. is BANNED on wp. it's okay, even I didn't early on until someone told me. it's in the guidelines, have a look:

          	votes are a way to show appreciation, not a form of payment. and it's not a bad thing if you did it out of ignorance but what makes it irksome is when you attack someone for making you aware of it and calling them names or giving excuses. Just make the changes man, or your book might actually get taken down by Wattpad, it's happened before.

@_thekimskimchi_ sorry for joining the convo late lmao but i agree. i mostly hate then its 5+ “hosts” in one single award when we all know that not every single person works on the book. to follow them permanently all those hosts (which are mostly communities too) is just for popularity tbh. i hate that so much.

@_thekimskimchi_ tbh I find chapter updates more tedious and I'd only do it if it was really serious but the follow thing is really not that bad, especially if hosts tell you that you can unfollow after. unfortunately, most hosts don't. i hate the concept of shout outs even more

came across some pretty lovely news in my notifications today, totally out of the blue and i actually wasn't expecting anything like it - midnight musings is featured as a recommendation by the ambassadors profile of Wattpad in their summer reads for the month of June! this is so unexpected, considering the fact how I've been barely active here. but, it made my day!
