okay first of all i want to start this off with anyone who suffers ptsd or mental illness from past trauma you are so strong and i promise you will get through it, you have lived through the worst day of your life and you are still here breathing, i promise it will be okay.

this might be an unpopular opinion so lmk if you feel the same but sometimes when i’m reading a book, around chapters 10-20 it’s often introduced that ‘y/n’ or whatever has been abused or in the past or has a crazy ex. i feel like although it is sometimes a good way to add plot lines it sticks around for a few chapters then never seems to come up again, or the same shitty things happen over and over again to the protagonist. the thing that’s annoying is that i swear it happens every time and can be portrayed in a way that’s just ?? idk if this makes sense but what i’m sort of trying to say is if you’re writing a cute lovey dovey book about y/n and the celebrity don’t add in something of that nature without foreshadowing because it’s a really big plot line to add that can’t be forgotten about.

to anyone who has been through this, i am not trying to make you feel irrelevant or that what’s happened to you shouldn’t be talked about, it should be in a supportive way. i also understand that writers use things that have happened to them in real life in their books in a coping mechanism, which i also understand as it is something that i have done and continue to do. i just don’t want these traumatic events to be made irrelevant straight after the plot gets worn out.

if you like these sorts of books, i recommend reading ‘ am i normal yet ? ‘ i don’t know the author but it’s about a girl who suffers and is trying to recover from OCD without telling her friends, it is an amazing book and i 100% recommend!!
