Basically, all the covers on my account for all my fanfics are purposely black and white and as much as possible, i don't describe the races of the main character. I feel like my stories should be up to interpretation. As a POC in the 5SOS fam, I've grown extremely tired of seeing the same plain boring white girl with blonde hair and blue/green eyes or brown hair with brown/green eyes description. My next series after the black & white series of 5sos fanfics will pretty much all be POCs. They all won't be black girls/or boys either. I feel like everytime someone says POC everyone just thinks black. There is beauty in all races... black, white, asian, native american, aboriginal, or any form of indigenous group, Indian, middle eastern, etc... Whatever you are. I just feel like you should be able to imagine anyone you want when you are or if you are reading this series that I'm working on. It gets really boring seeing 5SOS out and about with the same type of girls. I mean Halsey and Arzaylea are technically POCs but I'm sorry to say this they are hella whitewashed. I'm never going to invalidate someone's history or race but they just look like everyone else. Maybe 5SOS just don't know a lot of POCs which I'm not going to blame them for. Just thought I should give my two sense.
