BAH not me disappearing for weeks after saying i was back... y'all i was getting my sh**t together and then three tragedies struck my family one after the other and it damn near sent me to the afterlife. Anyway, several therapy sessions later I'm logging in again i'm about to update in an hour too.

I hope you’re all doing well and keeping safe. So I haven’t been active for a few weeks now and it’s because of this weird anxiety I’m having towards writing. I feel genuinely scared to open up my stories and write like something may go wrong or it’s not going to be good. And then with reading, I get so embarrassed that I’m not as consistent as my other Wattpad buddies who get chapters up when they say they will are.
I know that writing and reading will make me feel so much better but at the same time I literally can’t bare the thought of typing a sentence in my stories right now. All of this is to say things are weird and I don’t know how to fix them. Has anyone gone through something similar? How did you overcome it?
I’ll try to get some chapters up this week because I really miss my characters and I don’t want to keep anyone waiting for any longer than they have.

@Mallolrb I can’t tell you how helpful this is for me. I feel weirdly stuck, but all the suggestions you’ve made are great and I’m looking forward to putting them into practice. I know Wattpad is super low stakes but my brain gets so stuck on ideas and I forget that it’s not the end of the world. Thank you again❤️

Hello @punk__rockitten ☺️ I’m sorry you’ve been feeling this way lately, writing isn’t an easy process and I can assure you that everyone on Wattpad felt vulnerable at some point! I’m assuming you’re putting a lot of pressure on yourself to come up with a story that your readers will love and keep up with an updating schedule. In that case the best thing would be to go back to the basics: you’re writing for yourself ♥️ Because it makes you happy! As long as you’re enjoying the process and liking your story then your readers will too! As for consistency, maybe try writing a few chapters first, that way, you’ll always have content to post ☺️

Starting from this coming Wednesday, I’ll be back to updating twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays)!!
I’m also working on visuals to add on to earlier and upcoming chapters (chapter headings, character and story aesthetics, text pages etc) so that’s gonna be happening from now on!
