Say, in a story there is X and Y. X is the protagonist and they are romantically interested in Y. Then there is Z, a person who either likes Y, or is in some kind of relationship with Y. Let's assume Z has done nothing 'wrong'. So why the fuck do readers immediately start bashing Z the moment they are mentioned? I get we are reading from the perspective of X, but seriously dude? 
          Man, readers can be really Janus-faced.
