River stood between the precipice of reality and delusion… his usual clip clop trotting sound of his heels were much less organized much less upbeat. He couldn’t help but let out a soft whine, stumbling on the edge of the sidewalk, nerves twitching, fighting between spasming or losing function, almost tripping over his feet a few times. His bushy tail dipped between his legs, ears held tightly to his head, he’d been drugged at a clients home, and both fortunately and unfortunately, was kicked out, though he was glad nothing else happened within that house, in this state it was much easier for one to get lost, let alone being able to make it back in time before his muscles decided they’d had enough, his breath caught in his throat, foot catching on a large rock, caught in the cracks of the sidewalk, letting out a high pitched scream, tumbling into the ditch, his world was spinning rapidly, feeling horridly nauseous already expression contorting, turning over, coughing, his arms bending, leaning his forehead into his forearms, able to taste his own stomach acid, he shuddered lightly, finding it… much colder than he’d expected it to be.

[@-_Hosted_Bunny_-] Benjamin wasn’t too far away when he heard someone scream. The sudden sound made him jump , his heart skipping a beat. He froze , looking toward where it came from with wide , nervous eyes. What if someone’s getting attacked ? The thought alone made his stomach twist. He looked around , hoping another person would run over instead. But no one came. He had to force his legs to move. Swallowing his fear , he hurried toward the scream. When he reached the edge of a ditch , he looked down and spotted River lying at the bottom. “ Oh , no . . . ” Benjamin blurted , panic filling his voice. “ Are you okay !? ” The question left his mouth before he realized how obvious the answer was. Carefully , he climbed down the slope , planting each foot as steadily as he could so he wouldn’t slip. Once he reached River’s side , he quickly knelt beside them , his hands hovering uncertainly as he tried to figure out what to do. “ Hey , I’m here . . . just hang on , okay ? ” he said , his voice trembling. “ Y-You don’t look too good . . . I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do . . . ”

His eyes closed and he smiled, “I try to keep them soft, I like to take care of the fur on my ears and tail.” He kept his head there against the others hand and he looked up at him. When the other scratched behind his ear however he started to melt his tail wagging rapidly.

@pvtcarmine I wholeheartedly agree! Physical media preserves not only the memories, but also the ownership that users have over their games, it's absolutely going to backfire one day...I was actually thinking too that we desperately need a crash like the 80's with Nintendo again, because the industry has become so greedy and overzealous :( (Thank you so much as well! Gaming is always a great topic of discussion, so I'm always down to talk! :D)

[@SpartaofGreece] / i highly doubt we’ll ever see the old era of gaming come back with how things are going. did you hear about how sony might be moving fully toward digital and possibly ending physical media in 2028? i think xbox is going to follow right after, which is honestly pretty sad. whoever thought digital-only gaming was a good idea needs to rethink that, lmao. imagine if the internet went down forever with no way to restore it — we wouldn’t even be able to access our games because digital content relies on wi-fi. it just doesn’t seem like a smart idea to me, imo— :( (thank you so much, i try to be! you’re pretty awesome to talk to as well, i think this is the most we’ve talked in a while, lol!)

@pvtcarmine Well, if there's anything I know, nothing is ever truly permanently over. The Gears universe has so many stories to tell, along with so many IP's (Knights of the old republic my beloved :') ) still having potential. I think once this downturn in the gaming industry passes, I hope we can return to the gems that the 90's, 2000's, and early 2010's churned out for gaming! (BTW, you are awesome to talk to! :D)

side note .. I don’t really plan on romancing him with anyone—but if I ever do, I’d be extremely picky about it. Honestly, I can’t really picture him with anyone at all since he’s… well, kind of too self-absorbed most of the time. (That said, if it’s with another KN8 character—especially Hoshina—then hell yeah, absolutely.)

He frequently pulls all-nighters , prioritizing video games over his responsibilities. Meetings are often ignored , as he considers them pointless and a waste of time. His room is usually a mess , cluttered with Yamazon boxes and random junk , reflecting his obsession with online shopping. When he isn’t gaming , he’s scrolling through social media , keeping his fans updated whenever possible. Narumi also resents it when other Defense Force members receive attention , seeing it as them stealing the spotlight from him.
