There was a common thread in my life that connected the past with the present, art and music. It all started in Brooklyn, the 80's movies and music had a huge effect on my psyche. As a child exploring the world through a curious lens, science fiction transported me to the future and pushed me to think outside the box.  I would constantly sketch characters and places bringing my imagination to life. 

Caribbean parents always stress education and white collar aspirations; lawyer, doctor, engineer. So that's what I did.  Studying engineering gave my parents a sense of pride and provided me a 'safe' profession, but the passion for creative arts lingered in the background.

I continued to practice engineering, but always feeling like something was missing from my work. In the years to follow, I would satisfy my creative hunger with side projects. Then in early 2018 I decided to transition from a 9-5 to a creative entrepreneur; paperxpencil© Creative Design Lab was born. Going back to my childhood and fulfilling a deep desire to create.
