          Clara stood eerily still, her hand resting on the chain as it rattled against the closed blinds. Rosy sunlight filtered through the narrow cracks, catching the side of her face.
          
          “Auntie?” Evelyn’s voice sounded too loud, too wrong. She clutched the collar of her blouse.
          
          Aunt Clara didn’t answer.
          
          “Auntie?”
          
          Silence. Only their shallow breathing filled the room.
          
          Then, finally her aunt spoke. 
          
          “We can’t stay here.”
