            “ because you’re so, so very distracting. ”    ( she replied, as if that explained everything. it was easier than telling him that she liked him, that he was in almost her every thought always. and especially easier than telling him how his voice was the nicest sound she’d ever heard, how his lips were the most intoxicating thing in the world. she had to get a grip before thinking about him flustered her again. again. he needed to stop distracting her. )    “ just .. you occupy my mind sometimes and distract me. only sometimes, and never for long— but sometimes you make me forget things. ”    ( like how she’d already forgotten about the many presences in their studio. )   

he shrugged lightly, "jus' thought i should say it " his voice stayed quiet as he spoke, his thumb subconciously rubbing her knuckle . his eyes stayed on her face, looking over and taking in every little detail . he couldn't get over how pretty she was, her eyes, he was sure those were his favorite part about her . he could get lost in them and honestly, he wouldn't mind . a soft laugh would leave him, " how am i distractin ?             ( she let out a soft breath she didn’t know she’d been holding in. )    “ what for.? ”    ( she whispered in return, head tilting to the side. despite looking at him, her eyes had stopped focusing a few times, as she’d gotten lost in thought. had she been thinking about him.? yes, but he didn’t need to know that. and besides, she had to stop thinking about him. her mind always wound up in memories that she shouldn’t think of with him around. )    “ you’re so very distracting, stop being distracting. ”

            ( her arms were wrapped around him before she could register it, and she was pretty sure her eyes were somewhat watery. he loved her.  loved  her. oh god. that was more than a little overwhelming, but somehow not in a bad way. )    “ you .. you love me. ”    ( she whispered softly, almost in a daze. then, she seemed to snap out of it. )    “ i love you, too. ” 

he'd sigh softly, " yeah .. yeah . i do " he mumbled . he can't believe he let himself slip up like that .. maybe now was the time to think before he spoke because clearly that wasn't happening

            “ you— you just— ”    ( she stammered for words, face still flushed. )    “ you said you love me. you love me.? ”    ( she asked, still not over it. she barely even heard what he’d said last. her mind had practically stopped, frozen. ) 

his smile faded slightly " i- it was nothin, perc .. really " he couldn't keep this up, the look on her face making it harder to lie to her . he shouldn't be doing any of this, they wouldn't be in this situation if he'd stopped

            ( her frown only deepened at that. it was obvious he was lying, she could  see  it. )    “ i’m gonna ask you again, east. what were you doing before i got here.? ”    ( should she have let it go.? probably, but he’d  lied  to her. she couldn’t let that go. )

he did his best to play it off, he hated lying to her but he didn't it being out that he's started again . " nothin, baby . " he shook his head, " sorry, my phones dead, so i didn' see it "

            “ does that mean you’re buying it.? ”    ( she couldn’t stop herself from sounding even a little bit excited. ) 

" i'll buy it . i don' mind, really " he was gonna buy it for her, you couldn't convince him not to

            “ grab your coffee  * faster *  then, love. wouldn’t want to be late to work. ”   ( sure, she was being harsh, but she didn’t particularly like him— and she didn’t care enough to hid that fact. definitely poor him. </3 )

            ( percy sighed. she knew he was right. )    “ you didn’t do anything. i just .. don’t like needing you. not because of you, because in general i don’t like needing people. and when i realize i depend on people— i push myself away. ‘s not even on purpose, it just happens. ” 

he pinched the bridge of his nose, " aren' i yir boyfriend ? aren't couples supposed to talk to eachother ? ya can' jus' ignore me like this . we have ta talk to eachother . if i did somethin .. " he sighed, " please jus' let me know "

            ( she couldn’t help but giggle at how cute he looked when he blushed. )    “ oh my god, you’re absolutely adorable, baby. ”    ( she reached up, moving his hair away from his eyes. )  

he placed his hands over hers, leaning into her touch, " i know,  i like doin it though " he smiled, rubbing his thumb along the back of her hand, " so are you "

            ( her hands gently held his face. )    “ you definitely did baby. you don’t have to get me things though, y’know. ”    ( she gave him a soft hum. )    “ you’re so pretty. ”

his face flushed a light shade of pink when she kissed him, " 'm glad ya do . spent a bit fir one fir ya . glad i found the right one "

" oh " was all he could say, did they say anything bad about him, the first thought he had was they were shit talking him for everythijg he's done to perc, although it was nothing horrible, he just thought it was bad . " so  .. uhm, how bout we go uhh, get somethin ta eat " easton has never sounded more awkward and uncomfortable in his life, this had to be one of the worst moments in his life .

            “ oohh, you’re the one momma and titi talk about always. ”    ( lacey said, as if that was any explanation to anyone. sure, she still had no idea who the guy was, but she recognized the name, so that was something. to her, at least. percy was glad the girl was still a child, because even if she could feel the tension, she could only feel a fraction of it, and she wouldn’t mention it. lacey, on the other hand, was full on judging everyone in the studio. )    

he nodded, mustering up a sort of smile, god he felt awful for adrinna being there, they did nothing wrong but it felt like they did . " 'm easton, 's nice ta meet ya lacey " adrinna was sitting there sobbing, she was a mess and not really paying much attention to the converstation at the door
