rachel chewed on the corner of her lip, dark brows furrowing as she observed finn from across the choir room. they hadn't talked since jesse's sudden transfer to mckinley high, and as uncomfortable as things may have been, she did want to salvage their friendship. she waited until mr. schue dismissed glee club for the day, careful to look preoccupied with piles of sheet music until the majority of the club filed out, chatting amongst themselves. she latched onto the sleeve of finn's sweater, dragging him a few steps behind the group as she offered him a tentative smile. "i was thinking. i know, since jesse got here, you and i haven't sung as many songs together and . . . maybe we could prepare a duet for our next rehearsal."

@gcldstars the taller male had blanked when she was talking about jesse, as it often did when people spoke of those he disliked, but he had managed to catch the last part of her spiel. "ah, nice. you sang together." much more sarcastic than needed. "not really surprised. look - i'm - i'm just. . . i'm just happy if you're happy, i guess. but if he hurts you, i'm pummeling his face in."

her eyes narrowed slightly, disapproval radiating off of her. rachel was naturally protective over the people she was close to; possibly because she was close to so few people, considering the majority of mckinley high -- and even the glee club, really -- couldn't tolerate her. "jesse feels more than just self-satisfaction," she snapped, though the heat behind her words wavered. no. of course he did. "although i don't really blame him for that. he's very talented. we sang together the first time we met," she added brightly.

@gcldstars wow, finn was glad that jesse had the ability to let jealousy fall off his back easily. he wished he had that blessing. and yet, here he was, being the most jealous human being ever just because they were / talking / about jesse. he let out a soft huff. "ah. lucky him. must be a nice life, not feeling jealousy. or anything aside from self-satisfaction." his face twisted into a rather wry smile, as it usually did when he was speaking of jesse.
