Something about this wattys feels off. Could be just me

@bookishfairy1 Thank you so much for taking the time to reply on this thread. Your side has given more clarity into the issue at hand. If you haven't already, may I suggest that you post this on the Wattys profile in all the three languages that are eligible this year? In US, Philippines, and Spain? It would be a great help to all those poor, discouraged writers who believed that they didn't make the cut because of their writing skills, when in reality it's because of the unfair judging system.

@quenoxclime Although four years old, this post is accurate. However, the Wattys drama continues every year, and this year was unfair to everyone on this platform. I was a Wattpad Creator whose contract ended recently on my writing account. The Wattys will always be an unfair, shady contest. Since joining this platform over five years ago, no one who wins that award does anything special. There are no judges at first; the stories are run through a computer system that selects the top 100, and after five weeks, the Wattys team lets the authors know that they were selected. After everyone replies (if they check their email), the Wattys head person will gather all permissions and stories and update the shortlist as usual. This year, there are 72 books on the list, so the actual judges step up. But the judges ARE ambassadors. That is exactly what this article is about. After the shortlist, ambassadors divide stories among themselves, of course, per genre. The judging team, which is posted in the Watty book, will then read the top 40 books of scan genre before announcing the winner on schedule. Or they will trust ambassadors who read and provided feedback. It starts with a computer shortlist, then ambassadors, then human judges. Very unfair contest. A lot of blogs and articles online have also written about this subject. Former ambassadors explain everything. I'm not an ex-ambassassor but a current one, and I can confirm that these online articles are accurate.

@ShaneekaBarnett02 Yup. I feel the same way too. I read a Reddit post awhile ago which could explain why https://www.reddit.com/r/Wattpad/comments/ittl1s/the_wattys_are_actually_fake/
