so there's this girl in the sixth grade- seventh now, ig (they grow up so fast *sob*) and I help her with english sometimes.
and one day she told me she didn't know how to read a clock, so I was like 'Oh, I'll teach you' and I did, and I think she understood it pretty well so the next day I ask her the time and she got it on the second try (yay!)
and the day after I ask her the time again and she's taking some time so I offer 'the tall one's at eight, and seven is thirty-five minutes.' (I said something like that, idk, I didn't originally say it in english)
She's still taking some time so I say, 'thirty-five plus five?' and she asks 'is it forty-five?' ...and, like, she means it, she didn't say that as a joke.
...I mean, she's twelve or thirteen, I think and... she says shit like that and... Is that normal? Surely not?

@r-remus-lupin omg thats so nice of you to do!
And not knowing how to read the clock is so real, I didnt learn it until I was in the seventh grade and I'm still very slow at doing it...
And to the 35+5=45 thing- maybe she has like Maths weakness. I dunno the real english name. A friend of mine has that and she struggles with 'easy' addition.

So I learned morse code recently bc English class was boring as fuck.
And when I tell people they're like 'why? do you want to go in the army?' or something alomg the lines of that. Which... yeah, it isn't really necessary to know, I guess.

But then I'm listening to podcasts and I hear morse code and I'm like 'HOLY FUCK I KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS'
Or like, I was watching some guy play some video game and then some dots and dashes came on the screen and I was just so happy I knew what they meant. (I was also yelling at the TV for the guy to look up what that means bc I'm pretty sure that was a hint, but)

@justcompletemess I can help when you get to doing it if you want :)
