Daniel Greer, a Princeton undergraduate in the 1950s would often walk the aisles of Firestone Library in his attempt to assemble a quorum of ten men for ma 'ariv prayers at the very homogeneous campus, Daniel Greer unhesitatingly approached random students and invited them to join a minyan. Memorable was one startled fellow replied: "Well no thank you, but, my ancestors, were Hebrews."
