Hair products: For my hair i started off with long chemically damaged hair and i got it cut to just under my shoulders. if you have really damaged hair that cannot be saved it’s best to cut it off and get the weight off of your curls. after that i did a bunch of research for what would help my hair. i found that Pillow Soft Curls by Miss Jessies was the best fit. (there are more product by that brand that are also amazing. and i use a growth oil for my hair but you don’t have to do that. another thing is to make sure you can get as much moisture into your hair as possible. using brands like cantue that have alcohol are you’re worst enemies THROW THEM AWAY. and as i did you have to do research for your hair type my hair (when healthy) is around 3b - 3c. so just do your research even though it takes time it’s definitely worth it. good luck guys <3

Hair masks: personally i switch from using whichever from the brand Shea Moisture. but i’ve heard aztec clay is great for curls as well (i’ll be trying it soon so i’ll try to update you guys). But if you don’t have the budget for those making you’re own is great to. commonly used ingredients are; eggs, mayonnaise (trust me it helps), conditioner (to fill it out), aloe, and oils. but you should do more research for what you want for your hair so you can add whatever you need. i usually leave my hair masks in for as long as i can but some masks require a specific time, if you make your own you can keep it in for however long you like but preferably over 45 minutes.
This next thing isn’t really a “hair mask” but it’s great for chemically damaged hair or heat damaged hair. get a protein treatment they work wonders for restoration for curls. :)
