hey yesterday i was reading this book but now all the chapters r gone what happened?

In The Gangleaders did Chance actually die in an explosion or was it just a way for Ace and the Gang to not come and look for her. Was this just to cover up her working for Felix or did she really die? Pease explain because I’m totally confused.
