ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING CHAPTER 1.2 continued The term came to an end and it was prize giving day I was called out for an award but it didn't relieve me of my pains I was awarded the neatest student , I just got home threw the award somewhere and crieddddd because that was not what I wanted, I wanted an award in a academics but guess what? I came 2nd overall in mathematics that term! well, I could have done better . Here, I parted ways with my lesson teacher he had to leave for a better opportunity and that was the last lesson teacher I had! But guess what Basic 4 came strategic and was a stepping stone to a big break! Ending with a cliffhanger: "So, Basic 4 came with a strategic twist... and it was a game-changer! But what was it? " "Take a guess in the comments below! What do you think was the strategy that turned things around for me in Basic 4? Share your thoughts, and let's see who gets closest to the truth! "
@ralpheal_Pens Ahhh till when again Reading more is all I want rn This is huge
@ralpheal_Pens The suspense The guess what I love them all Carrying your readers along well Waiting for the next as well Fantastic ❤️
ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING CHAPTER 1.2 continued Basically, the whole summary of basic 3 was still about the mindset I had from basic 2 with my mind sealed despite getting encouragement and motivation from different sources I went through the first 2 terms like that until it was too late in Basic 3, third term when we were introduced to Long division in mathematics we found it so difficult and challenging we were being taught for weeks so there was this time my class teacher then got angry she decided to give us a test and by the time the test result was out we performed so bad just one girl who was a new girl then did very well, she was asked to remain in the class while the rest of the class we were taken for punishment, she took us to basic 2, a junior class alongside with some seniors with drums. We were arranged on a straight line and we went like that on a row to basic 2 we were asked to dance and sing while the seniors beat the drums and our juniors laughed at us, we danced and sang the song that had the lyrics " I scored zero" "This is my zero 2×" " A big zero 2×" "with fish" " And I'm not ashamed" We were forced with cane to sing and even dance so well, we were being mocked and as young kids we were so bitter about it, I cried so much got home told my lesson teacher I needed to know it , he made my see again why I should haven't stopped channeling the energy and immediately I picked up with him and I was fully ready again so at the time I wrote the promotional examination to Basic 4 I was already good with my long division I wrote the mathematics examination then I had a good score my teacher called me and said I must have copied to have had the score so she gave me a new question sheet and asked me to stay next to her and write the Examination again . Yes!!! I did, and I even came out better with a 39/40.
This is sooo pleasant to see We need to see that teacher she didn't do well This is funny But guess what like the author has been using she pushed you to do more
@ralpheal_Pens that 39/40 for me please❤️ may we not fall in the front of our enemies
@ralpheal_Pens Jesus Jesus I laughed so hard here I think I can relate something similar happened to me my then, was on the assembly my crush was present I cried so much not because of how I was disgraced o but my crush was there now anytime I see him in school I do pick race to avoid talking about it then
ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING CHAPTER 1.2 continued Taking a trip down memory lane I remember then on prize giving occasions Academic Awards were only given to pupils/students who emerged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in each Arms (like I mean in Basic 2A, 2B and the likes for an instance) then Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd position for the overall class (here I mean overall including both Arms A&B). So, I told my lesson teacher Mr Ezeikel I said" Sir, I don't want 2nd position neither do I want the 1st position but the goal was 3rd position in my class I mean my Arm Basic 2A not even the overall, he laughed so hard because I felt like those people were superior and I couldn't meet their match, so he asked why and kept on encouraging me not to settle for the less but I stood my ground and said No oh let me still get 3rd I will keep working towards getting 3rd position, he said fine we have 4th now we are close to being there if you keep the same energy you will get it and atleast from there we can start working for 2nd and 1st and yes we laughed and agreed and trust me I kept channeling the energy, I stayed determined and was ready. Okay second term came by but as at the Second term I wasn't feeling so inferior again based on the mindset that even if I was not among the top 3 atleast I was the next in line and yes Examination period came and as usual results were out but things didn't go as planned I came out 6th in my class Arm (Basic 2A) despite not backing off, I was so bitter , so pained I cried for days my mum kept on petting me trying to make me see the other side of the story but I wasn't yielding and I didn't even think of the fact that as much as I'm putting my best is the same way others too are doing, so I sealed my mind no more energy channelling just being open to whatever that comes my way I went through 3rd term with my mind sealed and by the time results were out I dropped but still promoted to Basic 3.
@ralpheal_Pens Amusing likeeee you wanted to belong when you have the spirit to fly high the zeal is there you will always get there Keep pushing I want to see more please
ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who took the time to comment on my previous post. Your kind words, hilarious jokes, and thoughtful insights means alot. Recap on the previous chapter (1.1) I remember telling my mum I said "mummy is like something is wrong with me " She said " No, you are not just fully driven yet " Let me bring my home lesson teacher into the chapter now Mr. Ezekiel he will always say"Obviously nothing is wrong with you" So I started channeling energy because I wanted to be one of the highlights of the class! Basically then, you get to be one of the highlights of the class either as "an olodo", "A gangster", or "One of the brightest pupils so you know and find your place in the class. CHAPTER 1.2- When passion waxes and wanes I started by joining my sister anytime she takes time to study, then we would read in the same room and when I'm done reading I'm always persistent about my sister holding my books to ask me questions, it kept going like that and I was also attending the school classes in addition with the Extra lessons at home and of course I saw improvement but that wasn't the goal, it wasn't the focus as at then. In no time, Examinations started and the results were out I did brilliantly well but not enough to have emerged as the 4th position in Basic 2A and 9th position overall in Basic 2 with a record of about 40-50. That term I got a comment from my class teacher in my report card which states that " I was very eager to learn and active". I know you might be wondering what the goal could be or what the focus was? I came 4th in my class basically that was bright enough but you don't get that highlights of the brightest pupils if you are not in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position . See next post.
@ralpheal_Pens to start with you are welcome We are also benefitting I got the notification and I'm here cos I have learnt something
The fact that you will learn from every drop is a whole lot Loving this again
ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING Concluding part 1.1 . Basically then, you get to be one of the highlights of the class either as "an olodo", "A gangster", or "One of the brightest pupils so you know and find your place in the class! Are you a: Bookworm and one of the brightest pupils? (Mostly teachers favorite) Class clown and lovable "olodo"? Confident and fearless "gangster"? T.B.C Let us know where you fit in! Drop a comment below! To be continued... #ClassPersonalities #SchoolLife #FindYourPlace"

ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING Continuation part 1.1 Considering moving from a school with lower population compared to the population I met at covenant Academy, not just even in terms of population Educational pursuit at Covenant Academy seemed more challenging and more rewarding, gaining an insight of the kind of environment I was , it seemed very competitive but making friends was one of the easiest things kids do but trust me you won't want to make friends with the ones tagged as the "Olodo's" of the class when there are some set of pupils back then who were always the highlights of the class because they were tagged "The brightest pupils". But trust me I wasn't one of the brightest and I was never tagged being dull I was just a pupil slightly above average in the class Observing my environment. Frequently, these pupils tagged as the bright ones get praised and rewards for doing well while the pupils in the class get hurt and show remorse While you act like you don't see these people but trust me when you get behind doors you are working towards being a part of them or even better! So I have sat down so many times to watch these people from afar , I see them cramming a whole bloody stack of books , memorizing and calculating getting back home on several occasions my sister is also doing the same, so it was like they all had something in them that wasn't in me I remember telling my mum I said "mummy is like something is wrong with me " She said " No, you are not just fully driven yet " Let me bring my home lesson teacher into the chapter now Mr. Ezekiel he will always say"Obviously nothing is wrong with you" So I started channeling energy because I wanted to be one of the highlights of the class! See next post for the concluding part of 1.1
That part of you act like you don't see them I'm telling you, but you actually do secretly giving all your best at the back and acting like I don't see them Everybody wants the best and to be the best
@ralpheal_Pens As a kid there was always that let me do more thing in this kind of environment even as an adult
ACADEMIC JOURNEY SHARING CHAPTER 1: Puzzle pieces of my past "Hello everyone! I'm RALPHEAL LAYOKUN, the youngest of two siblings, and I'm excited to share my Academic Journey with you all! From my humble beginnings to the present day, I'll be taking you through the ups and downs of my educational path. Buckle up and join me on this trip down memory lane as I share stories from my primary school days to my current pursuits. I may not remember every detail of my primary school days, but the memories that linger are like puzzle pieces that have shaped me into who I am today. I attended two different schools in my primary school days, First I attended Jacflorie Nursery and Primary school between Kindergarten days to Basic 1 And Started my journey at Covenant Academy both in Ekiti state at Basic 2. Throwback to my primary school days! I'm taking a trip down memory lane and remembering how we used to dread going to school, even though all we did was learn the basics like A-Z, colors, and shapes and the likes, the fear of teachers then was another dreading factor. So basically, My academic journey from Kindergarten to Basic 1 is a bit of a blur, but everything changed from Basic 2 onwards. That's when my educational path came into focus, and I started to form lasting memories. In this series, I'll take you through my journey from Basic 2 to present day, sharing stories of triumph, struggle, and growth. However, being the youngest of two siblings my sister who was three classes ahead of me was about writing the primary school leaving certificate Examination and we had to change to another school because the school we attended then does not have a secondary school yet, and trust me we didn't step down rather we transitioned to a higher standard and that was how the Journey at Covenant Academy began. See next post for the continuation of this chapter part!
