Guys can ya help me out? I read a story on here like over a year ago. It was a short story (around or over 5,000 words) and I think it was written for a contest but I don’t remember the title or where I found it!

It has stuck with me ever since and I NEED to find it!

It was a fairy tale kind of story, started with a princess who crashed in her carriage in the middle of winter. Her driver was an old man and kind of hurt and eventhough it wasn’t easy, she started to half carry him through the woods to her castle.

As they stopped for breaks she would keep falling asleep and then the line ’It was the cold that woke her.’ kept repeating.

I swear that line has haunted me ever since.

Everytime this happened, the man got younger and more handsome until he wasn’t her old driver but the prince she was betrothed to and it was all very Beauty and the Beast with a subtle Sleeping Beauty-Snow White vibe.

I swear it's the best story I’ve ever read but I can’t find it for the life of me, HELP!!!

How many minutes should it take to read a chapter? Leave your answer so authors can make chapters the perfect length!

I see your dilemma, DM me a little more about what you are trying to do and maybe we can brainstorm a solution.

@ralyse - another question that I'd like the answer to - but in my almost two years here at Wattpad, I've found that SHORT chapters are much better for the Wattpad platform - I have story here that is 80,000 words (I wrote it some years back) and it has anything from 4k to 6k a chapter. Although the book is page turning and full of sub-plots, etc, I do need to reformat it, even do rewrites and make it into between even as low as 1k and up to a max of 3k - I have 17 chapters for 80k words, and that averages OVER 4k a chapter; way way too long for Wattpad as people have short times to read and some of my followers like short chapters to read at nights, or while in transport.

This is a shoutout to the best reader I could possibly ask for! @JennyButterworth has been spamming LBNF with so much love it's unbelievable! If y'all could click one little button on her profile that says 'follow' or 'add to reading list' I'm sure you could MAKE HER DAY! I don't like asking people to do things if I don't have a REALLY good reason.

You may not have accomplished a single thing today, but if you follow her, you have made an impact in the world, and that is beautiful.

Happy Wattpadding! If you want a shoutout I love giving them. Especially let me know if you know people who deserve them, I will TOTALLY LOVE shouting out to your online bestie.

@Tweeter109 is a really insightful reader! I was blown away with how accurately she could read my character's and then describe them! I feel that this can only reflect how marvelous her own characters must be! She only needs 15 followers to reach 100 and trust me you will DEFINITELY want to follow her! Give her some love with the simple click of a button, and I promise you won't regret it!
