Raymond A. Ybañez was born and raised in the city of Cagayan de Oro. He was a fellow at the 1st Cagayan de Oro Fiction Writing Clinic, Palihang Rogelio Sicat 10 (Sentro ng Wikang Filipino, Filipino Department and Philippine Literature of the University of the Philippines -- Diliman) and Kausaban Creative Writing Workshop (Ateneo Institute of Literary Arts and Practices of the Ateneo de Manila University and the National Center for Culture and the Arts). He is a member of Kataga - Online, Samahan Ng Mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas and NAGMAC (Nagkahiusang Magsusulat sa Cagayan de Oro). His works have appeared in Dagmay Literary Journal and Bulawan, Literary Zine of Northern Mindanao. He has self-published his first collection of poems, 'Mukha At Iba Pang Mga Tula.' He currently lives in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
