@Charliemarvle I don't know if they are quite the same thing, as I don't really know what "midterm" is lol. But yes, Thanksgiving break is an American thing where the students get a week off in the middle of November.
And to answer your second question, I LOVE Book 7: The Deathly Hallows! It's so well planned, it ties everything together so well, it's sad enough that I can truly believe that the Battle of Hogwarts was a tragedy (rip Fred), and yet I still feel like she gave us a happy ending.
