@ProudIslander i understand both sides sometimes you need the extra bit of encouragement and i would love to say that i will change my way of thinking and read books that are finished or not but i don't want to lie to you i read everyday and i like to be able to read the same book until i finish it. In order to read like i do if i didn't read only finished books i would be switching from this book to that book depending on who updated and who would want to read like that. Anyway i want to read your book and i don't mind waiting for it to be completed otherwise it would have never made it into my library. I would think it would be a compliment that someone was willing to wait for you to complete it lol. Anyway i hope we're good and believe me when i read your book i will vote and probably comment I'm passionate about the characters i read and if i love them i can't help but commenting. I look forward to reading your book.

@KatrinHollister i appreciate your understanding and that obviously you can see both sides and that makes me think that the least i could do is go and vote on all of the finished chapters for the books i have in my unfinished library. I just don't like having to wait for updates sorry if people think that makes a bad person somehow but at least you understand and again i say thank you

It doesn't make you a bad person at all :) but I hope you can also see the other viewpoint. I've certainly been in your shoes -- I think a year later, the first story I read still isn't finished...

@ProudIslander ooh I heard my name. Hope you don't mind me butting in. I can appreciate @rebelgirl41's view. It's not really a case of not giving writers a chance. Think from a reader's POV: after you've invested in emotion for the characters, you turn the page, only to find... There is no next page. The story never updates again and you never find out if Ellie saves the world or if John got together with Anna. It's very frustrating and disappointing. It's very often the case on Wattpad with writers who aren't used to churning out finished stories so the writers often lose motivation or plot ideas halfway through, and then abandon the story.

Having said that, as a writer, there is nothing more encouraging than readers giving lovely comments as you write. It's so motivating and such a pleasure and honour.

Some readers like to be right up to date and follow the book to the end; others like to read without the writer potentially holding up the story with writer's block or real life events or just the natural pause between updates. It's just different tastes and often readers fall into one of the two categories.

You'll find if you consistently finish your stories, eventually readers will jump ship and start following your ongoing one because you're very likely going to finish yours. Also, when you finish your story, you'll get a new influx of readers who, like Rebelgirl, prefer finished ones to ongoing projects.

@ProudIslander Okay I'll read it as soon s it's complete. Honestly I don't read books unless they are complete. You can blame The_Starzees for that she taught me a lesson about making sure a book is complete before i start reading it I'm still waiting on her to finish Forces of Nature it's literally been 4 years and it's still not finished. Anyway i look forward to reading your book and if you have any that are already finished let me know I'll check those out too
