she looked up to them , her dear family . so full of joy and hope even while living in such terrible conditions , barely scaping by and crippled by debt . those carefree smiles and laughter disguising the pain and fears , it was so comforting . she wanted that happiness to last forever , regardless of how fake it was . but why didnt they feel the same ? why didnt they put their happiness ahead of greed ? she would sit , watching their trial with eyes hurt by betrayal and body quivering in horror . the crowd gossiping and booing as though this were all some kind of theatrical show for their entertainment . as though they enjoyed how this family was being torn apart at the seems . how she , no older than 12 , was being left alone . so alone . and so , so scared . every time she blinked , it like she could still see it , still hear it . the corpses . the booing . the crowd . the blood . so much blood . is this what the people found oh so amusing ? why their noses are so pressed deeply into their news papers ? yes , she understands now . for the sake of these fiend's pleasure , she shall put on a show , create a mystery great enough to leave even celestia on the edge of its seat !
