“He didn't look up. Didn't let his eyes sweep the room. He wasn't ready to see him. He couldn't. Not yet. Because he felt him.
That heat. That steady, quiet pull. Like gravity had suddenly chosen a new direction.
It latched onto him the way it always had - sure and silent and absolute. A gaze that pressed against his skin, that traced the slope of his shoulders and the curve of his jaw without ever needing to touch him. Jonah didn't need to see Jasper to know he was there.
He felt him. Every ounce of him.
It was like standing too close to a fire.”
