The idea of a world finally achieving peace in Beyond Genesis (the government), only for that peace to come at the cost of being ruled by one person, really caught my attention. I especially like the idea of exploring what happens when absolute power actually works rather than simply having the usual “hero loses control” storyline. I’m writing a slow-burn dystopian mystery myself, so themes of control, power, and questioning the system definitely caught my attention here. Looking forward to seeing where this goes!

@revivalofaena You're very welcome! I really like stories where seemingly separate things slowly start connecting, so that definitely caught my attention. That's something I'm trying to do in my own story too—plant little details and unanswered questions early on that don't always seem important at first, then gradually reveal why they matter. I'll definitely start Beyond Genesis from the beginning so I can experience all of that buildup and context properly. Thank you for the recommendation, and for taking the time to reply! I'll definitely keep reading when you return in October. I hope you enjoy your break from writing, too.

@xBabykate13 Thank you very much for this comment! I'm really glad you find Beyond Genesis interesting, and I hope it inspires you to write something amazing too. Writing this kind of fiction definitely requires some moral and ethical discipline, especially when exploring certain ideas, since the story can get pretty morally complicated depending on how you look at things. One thing I will say is that the connections between things in Beyond Genesis are very close and very tightly intertwined. A lot of things that may seem separate at first eventually connect to something else, so I definitely recommend continuing to read, and possibly starting from the beginning if you really want to grasp the story as a whole. Not that you can't read the individual arcs on their own, but there's a lot of buildup and context connecting everything together. Sadly, I'm currently on a break from writing, and I'll probably be away until October at the latest.

Just a small rant, but this is something I feel strongly about. 
          
          In any type of media, especially when I’m reading, I genuinely hate blackmail as a major plot point. It always gets under my skin and makes the story feel forced instead of natural.
          
          And if the blackmail is sexual!?!? I’m immediately out. It gives me such a strong ick that I can’t keep reading, I have to drop the story.
          
          Which is funny, because I’ll read and even write some pretty weird or dark stuff. I’m not easily put off, and I’m open to a lot of unconventional themes. But for some reason, blackmail, especially sexual blackmail, is just the line for me. It completely ruins the experience.
          
          I don’t know what it is exactly, but it’s one of those things that instantly takes me out of a story, no matter how good everything else is.
