Ok so I know I have a following of like 2 but I need an opinion please someone help. I wrote a bunch of chapters one night for “daughter of a cop” but they’re darker than I wanted them to be (like kidnapping and grooming n shit) but I think that topic is just kinda uncomfortable for me and idk if I want Gwen to be more of a comedic relief until her and Angela get closer. I want to rewrite it but idk do yall think trauma would build character.

@reyna0103 I might be late. But ultimately it's about what you as a person feel comfortable writing. Personally I do believe trauma can build character. There's a reason why they tattooed Lucy without consent and threw her in a barrel. But it shouldn't come at the expense of your comfort, and potentially mental health. We're not the ones who have to emerse ourselves in what our character is going through, because ultimately OCs often are deeply personal and can often be built on aspects of ourselves however small those aspects might be.
          	  
          	  So the long and short is, listen to your own heart on this one. I'd love to see the darkness, because darkness is a part of life. But my opinion doesn't matter fuck all. Only one opinion matters, and it doesn't belong to anyone who's reading your stories.
