          yes, mellifluous is drafted for now.
          no, it was not written by ai.
          what frustrates me the most is that ai is trained on the work of real writers and artists without their consent. it learns from years of other people’s creativity, then produces something that resembles it. because of that, actual human writing is now constantly being accused of “looking ai-generated,” simply because ai has been trained to imitate the styles that people spent years developing.
          
          i’ve been writing fanfiction since i was 11 years old starting with k-pop fanfiction (dear god). i’ve been reading fanfiction for even longer than that. of course my formatting, pacing, and writing style resemble what many people consider the “default” style of online fiction. that’s because i grew up reading and writing it, not because a machine wrote it for me.
          
          the idea that my work is being questioned because it “sounds like ai” is honestly heartbreaking. i want to become a poet and an author. watching ai flood creative spaces, make it harder for real writers to be trusted, and take opportunities away from people who have spent years honing their craft is one of the most discouraging things i’ve experienced.
          
          i’ll figure out how to prove my work is my own, because it is. i am firmly against ai being used to replace artists and writers, and i refuse to let something i’ve been passionate about for years be dismissed as machine-generated.

chapter nineteen out now! and yes, it IS  a fred fic.. trust me. anyways, the heat has slowly calmed down a bit. it still feels like i'm being boiled alive, but at least it's more manageable. i should be able to write more often now!

okay, probably won’t be able to write the next chapter today because i am trying to survive a LITERAL CODE RED HEAT WAVE. if you’re also in this hot ass area, stay hydrated and remain indoors as much as possible. take care of yourself, next chapter will be up as soon as possible! i really appreciate the support

yes yes, i am aware that the yule ball canonically takes place before the second task. however, it felt more fitting to have it before the third, knowing what i have in mind for this story ;-)

oh, you thought the romance was gonna JUST be fred and mireya? do you really think i'd make it that easy? cedric is here to steal your hearts (and possibly break them) ...

update; redid those first few chapters! now it should be more consistent. :-)

if you noticed a strong change in my writing style over the past few chapters, you are very observant and you would be very correct. i found the way i wrote in the first couple chapters extremely unreadable so i changed to a more comfortable pace and spacing. i might change the first couple of chapters to fit this same style, but that might take a while because i can get lazy when having to rework something i originally "finished".
