Hi everybody! I’m so excited to be able to close out Destroy today, I hope you enjoy the ending and all the little hints/insights into future stories, it was a fun chapter to write :)

I do have the summary prepared for the next novella - To Betray a Raven - and I’ll share it below. It will focus on Nellie and Connor! a year after the last chapter of Destroy takes place. This one will have a much bigger, gut-punch betrayal (no cheating) and a stronger grovel. For those interested in knowing what I have planned long-term, the official order of Raven stories will go Drie, Sam, Nellie, Jeden, Rosy. I also have spin-off stories in mind for Patrick and Maverick, but I have other WIPs happening outside of this storyline, so as of right now, I’m not certain what I will do after I finish Rosy’s story.

My immediate plan is to begin posting chapters again mid-January. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, Merry Christmas, and happy reading!

          	-To Betray a Raven-
Nellie Raven’s favorite thing to do was crochet. Despite her community-wide notoriety for causing trouble, her desires in life were actually quite simple. She wanted security, she wanted a family, and she wanted yarn - in no particular order. And when she met Connor Bree, a single father with a passion for life that matched her own, she thought she’d finally found the place where her heart belonged.

Nellie was a born fighter whose loyalties ran deep - and she was prepared to fight for what she’d found with Connor. That is, until the day she found herself in the midst of a misunderstanding that she couldn’t control; and she learned precisely where Connor’s true loyalties belonged.

Faced with the betrayal of the man she loved, Nellie is forced to confront just how far her loyalty will stretch - before it snaps irrevocably. And when Connor is slapped with his own dose of reality, he’s about to discover exactly how far a Raven is capable of taking a grudge.

@mrgoodson Yay! It's been a bigger challenge working through the family dynamics of this one, but I can't wait to start sharing it too. I hope your holidays have been great also :)

Good evening!

First I just wanted to note that I've updated the cover for Destroy and I will likely update Regret soon as well - but since I've entered it in the Ambys, I'm waiting for judging to finish before I make any changes. Let me know though if you think the simple original for Destroy was more appealing than the revised version.

And the second update is a fun one regarding story timing. I realized today that my plan for Destroy will require approximately three more chapters, and will result in the last chapter being posted on 12/24. I love that and am choosing to take it as a sign that I'm on the right track lol. I've already begun working on the third novella in this series as well and will share more details soon.

          As always, happy reading!

Update - I will still be posting a chapter this week, but my family is currently traveling and the WiFi is not always dependable. This week’s post will most likely be delayed until Wednesday, but keep an eye out because it is still coming! For those celebrating the holiday - I hope you have safe travels, delicious meals, and wonderful company

Having a minor technical issue - this is what I get for waiting on election results before finishing my edits. If I don't get it up tonight, I'll load chapter 8 sometime in the morning. It's a fun one! Sorry for the delay all <3 Happy Reading

Hey! Not a Raven update - just a general note regarding the fact that I am submitting several pieces to the 2024 Shortys. They are all listed under the collection titled "Iron Roses" on my page if you'd like to give them a read.

However, the reason I'm making this post is regarding my latest submission - the short story titled 'Soul Theory'. It's more aligned with the fantasy genre than romance (unlike the Raven series) - but the snark and shenanigans are very much comparable. It is one of the many stories that I started and then decided to go another direction. However, it called to me once again when I read the prompt: "I don't care if I lose my mind, I'm already cursed" (Fairytale by Alexander Rybak). And now I've gone and fleshed out the rest of the story lol.

Quick warning that for the purpose of being a short story, I do consider it complete; and there is a lot still unresolved that I don't have immediate plans to finish. However, I'd love to get some opinions/feedback from those who enjoy fantasy. Does it draw you in? Do you hate the concept? If you have some constructive criticisms or simply enjoy it and believe it's worth exploring further, please let me know!

This update came a little later than I'd anticipated - but the chapter also ended up being a good bit longer than I'd planned as well (nearly double). Each time I read back through it while editing today, I realized there was more story to be told, and thus the process restarted. Hopefully in the future though, I'll get the updates in on actual Sundays and not the middle of the night! Regardless, I hope you enjoy :)

          Happy Reading!

So I'm not exactly sure what happened in the last two days to cause the surge - I’m guessing I got bumped up in a tag - but I wanted to take a moment to give another huge THANK YOU to everybody who has interacted with my story and/or followed my account. It has seriously made my week to see the votes and comments coming in - just to know that my story resonated with so many people.

Also, a quick update that novella #2 - To Destroy a Raven - is really coming together, to the point that it seems to be writing itself at times lol. Though it does address some heavy themes (and feelings), it’s definitely got a lot more humor than Drie’s story. My plan is to begin publishing by next Sunday (Sept 15th), with chapter updates every weekend after (if not more). I hope you enjoy, and happy reading!

          To Destroy a Raven summary:

Overlooked, average, forgettable, quiet - a selection of the nicer words used to describe Samantha Raven. Being born into the world of drugs and crime, Sam’s education in self-sufficiency began at birth. Even after being transferred into the care of the stalwart Raven household, she held tightly to the hard lessons learned throughout her childhood - such as the advantages to being underestimated, the cruel machinations of kindness, and the safety in silence.

So when Henry Williams stumbled into her life, the epitome of sweet and sincere, she was inherently suspicious. And when her suspicions were confirmed through the accidental discovery of a business deal hinging on the results of a bet - Sam came to the realization that she was sick of playing the pawn. It would take a hell of a lot more than a bet to destroy this Raven - and it was past time that she became the main character of her own life, beginning with a healthy dose of revenge.

Oh wow, this is way better than I'd imagined - hearing that it was recommended on another platform has had me grinning like a loon. Thank you both for letting me know @Rochie2102 @MarifeReyes8 , and I'm so glad you enjoyed Drie's story, there's definitely a lot more to come!
