I'm a writer and digital journalist. In May 2019 I launched a new email newsletter https://www.cybercultural.com/ covering the intersection of technology and the cultural industries.

Previously I founded ReadWriteWeb in 2003 and built it into one of the world's most influential technology news sites. ReadWriteWeb was ranked among the top ten blogs in the world by Technorati and our content was syndicated by The New York Times (2008-11). ReadWriteWeb was sold to SAY Media in December 2011 and I left the site in October 2012.

I've written two books since leaving ReadWriteWeb:

My debut book Trackers, about how technology is helping us monitor and improve our health, was published in December 2014.

My science fiction novel Presence, about the future of Virtual Reality, was published in September 2016.
