So I just started reading the first book of Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson (no spoilers pls) and pretty much it's starting off good. The writing style is very simple and easy to catch up on; it doesn't rely on heavy intricate writing and the worldbuilding and characters are already astounding. If anyone here has read his work, do enlighten me on some writing techniques he uses that you've also applied to your own work.

Hello! Thank you for reviewing my story,'battle of invisible thorns- part 1 of rise of midnight'.
I know my story is quite clichéd, and I was inspired by a poorly written Roblox plot, my perfect sister, I didn't like the ending so I decided to write my version. And changing some details. I have an obsession with talking about tropes and cliches, and creating my own plots and characters that defy clichéd storytelling.

I can't guarantee a perfect story and I'm insecure about it. When I mean that, I mean:
          1. Must have good character development. Meaning changing in a good way. Sometimes I can't think of ways the protagonist can change.
          2. 0 plot holes.
          3. Making sure every single character is multi dimensional.
          4. Mary sue. Is my protagonist a Mary sue?

Just wanted to say hi! Super excited to see you still so active in the competitive circuit and doing reviews! Maybe when I finish my manuscript I could request a review from you? ^.^

Hope all is well and keep chugging along!

@Knighted_Rose Had a lot of reworking to do with mine. Tbh, I'm annoyed at myself for not moving on to progress the story and I keep on revising the first several chapters. I just realized how much of a perfectionist I am and I should really work on it cuz chapters aren't always perfect, most when it comes to the first ones. Also, maintaining my writing style is a difficult feat when it requires time and I'm studying computer science so the difference between using natural and computer language is hard for me to smoothly shift from one to another. It's even harder when you try to make codes for computers and always keep in mind they don't have common sense like humans do. This results in me often writing computer instructions lacking some features which makes it have errors, and writing too much in the chapter of my book that are unnecessary filters. So I think I'll have a long hiatus after posting several more chapters to focus on my class.

@Knighted_Rose Nice to hear about those. Patiently waiting for the manuscript before I go binge reading again. As for the community, I've joined the Heather, Rose-Gold, and Chrysalis Community which are very welcoming and nice spaces to meet new interesting people and get a chance to develop your writing and expand your book. Reviewing was a lot of work especially when it's about being tactful while delivering your main point. Though I'm not an expert at writing, my opinions just come from studying what makes a good book from reading and watching tips and guidelines online. Reviewing is also a significant way to develop your own book because you can also learn new ways and tips to develop your book by evaluating others'.

Hello! If I'm not mistaken, I believe I'm reviewing your title in The Frosted Pages Awards! I'm a bit pinched on time, so I can't read through your entire story, but ASORA stands for "A Saga of Redeeming Aelan", correct? If so, I was confused on what Aelan actually was, since it isn't mentioned in the blurb or the description parts before the story. Can you clear that up for me?

FantasyEqualsReality

Thank you! I've finished judging the Best Title category! Apologies for any harsh markings, but I hope you accept what you receive!

@FantasyEqualsReality Hello. Thank you for bringing this up. Aelan is the name of the world /planet the humans and creatures are living in made by a deity during creation. It's like the name of our planet Earth but the name isn't supposed to refer to the planet (which is intentionally misleading for the story), but the humans and creatures as a collective. Hence, it's the redemption of the human and other creature races, overall.
