why do people write stories about falling in love with dan/phil or whatever but then call it a phanfiction why not call it a danfiction or a philfiction just an idea

as i said yesterday its all narrowed down to 5 seconds of summer and one direction like?? i looked at one of those "dumb fanfic moments" and they either have to do with 5sos or 1d or something weird like that

also since when did fanfic become weird one direction junk where this random depressed character falls in love with the member or a member falls in love with another member like??? why??? i miss all the drarry fics where did those go and why are there so many poorly written mermaid stories does that not get old just questioning my existence on wattpad
