One would think that as an adult acne would be a thing of the past. Not so when you're placed in front of the state's longest running book club to discuss your new novel.
I was told before we began that people have left the group as things have gotten heated. Apparently, the first time they met back in 1991 after reading 'Damage' half the group never returned as things had gotten out of control.
Well, after a couple glasses of wine and many more to follow, I survived the 2 hour barrage of questions.
          	Book Two, here I come.

I was hoping this would happen. Thanks to everyone who has sent in a note via my webpage. After the note I received today, I'm going to have to open it up to two signed copies as I can't let the letter I received today go unanswered.

          Cheers,

          R. Matthew Simmons

BTW: Lots of free copies of lots of great books, including mine, given away on goodreads.

I am giving away a signed and personalized message copy of the Revised First Edition of 'Gretel: The Children of the Sun' in paperback.

To enter, just visit the website for the book (found on my profile page), click on the 'Contact' link and send me a brief message why. I'll ship out a copy to the person with the answer that best catches my eye. If I find more than one creative person, I may include another copy or two to those lucky folk.

Contest runs now until end of the day June 14, 2013.

(Goodreads will also be having a similar contest for 4 copies running the same time frame. A link to that contest should be availalbe very, very soon.)

          Cheers,

Book Two has a title! 'The Black Sun: The Story of Hansel' and a cover is in the works.
I have to say that so far the second book is much darker and violent than Gretel and written in the third person. At least that's what I have outlined and have begun to write.
Now that the first book is past, I have to say that the second seems to be a much easier process.

          Cheers,

Well, I found out that 'Gretel: The Children of the Sun' will be the book of the month for a book club (I can't recall the name of the group at the moment) for the month of June.... And I've been invited to speak/read towards the end of that month.

I'm hoping to have the first Chapter of Book Two written and polished and read from that as it would seem a bit redundant to reread something the group has just read.

          Thanks again to everyone!

You can now purchase the full paperback version on Amazon by searching for Gretel: The Children of the Sun. Kindle and Ipad versions should be available within the next couple of weeks (it is a much bigger task converting the files to those formats than I anticipated.)

          Thanks again to everyone's support!

Gretel is finished! I've just posted up the final versions of the Prologue and Chapters 1-4. Unfortunately, due to Wattpad contraints, some stylistic changes weren't able to come through but you'll get the picture none-the-less.

Complete book should be up on Amazon within 2 weeks.

Thanks again to everyone who has participated in this project.
