If anyone reads The Running Target script, they may notice that (aside from a few) most of the character names are quite generic/ basic. This is actually by design as, we're it ever to be picked up for future work/production (I can dream), I don't want the casting to be limited by the names - I'd rather tailor a character name and maybe even slang to the actor themselves. As long as the character personality and story can be played well, who cares what they're called?
          	Does that make sense??

Reading more about screenplays and have realised that I'm littering everything with directing and not sticking to the story itself. Its like taking a story to its first principles and keeping it that way. To be honest though, I really like that about writing these screenplays. No mess, no fuss!
I'm also now writing the screenplays in a MS Word template for scripts before copying it here so that I have a single place for everything. Have read that screenplays should very rarely go over 120 pages so I'm taking the scissors and cutting a lot of extraneous detail out.
Many edits to come to both The Running Target and Belinda Blinked 1

I've gotten another couple of scenes out for The Running Target!Trying pretty hard to get a level of mystery and intensity about what Darcy has gotten herself involved with.
For anyone reading it, let me know if this is coming across, if you're enjoying it, want more etc. etc.
I'm enjoying the writing process much more now I've decided to switch from full-on novel writing to screenplays!

I'm not in the habit of posting to my page but I've come to realise that, while I may have (what I think is) a decent story to tell, I'm not much of a writer. It takes ages and I'm quick to lose motivation. I can't do the story justice by writing it as a traditional novel.

That being said, I'm a logical thinker and I believe I may be better applied to writing in the form of a screenplay. Formatting a screenplay correctly doesn't really work on this platform (font type, size, tabs etc.) so I'm doing what I can to make it look a bit more like a screenplay... We'll see...

Hi Matt, thanks for the response.
I know what you mean, its hard to know what slight change in formatting can make the text clearer. Hoping that some research on my part will enlighten me!

I had the same formatting problems when I wrote my screenplay 'Better Halves', it's hard work and you just have to make it as clear as possible. I'll be following yours but won't comment until the plot takes shape. Good luck!
