hello! i saw you were asking advice on how to get more out there on wattpad. i cant speak too much about getting popularity for your stories, but i can tell you how i started meeting people and gaining followers.
read a lotttt of stories and make sure you comment a lot. my peak of getting followers and getting friends was when i commented on stories in every single chapter, multiple times a chapter. people will start responding and naturally click on your profile if your comment stands out or if you comment a lot, especially authors that watch their comments.
second, i made a crap ton of reading lists. i didn’t create them for the purpose of getting to know people but it has definitely helped! people follow and interact with me because of my reading lists and i’ve gotten many compliments on them!
i also like to leave messages on some authors message boards saying things like “hope you’re doing okay” or link tiktoks or memes to things that relate to their books. that has gotten me a lot of author mutuals. also, following them on other platforms (tumblr, instagram, tiktok) makes you stand out and i got my very first mutual from that interaction.
