A life update just posted ❤️

roosapetra

To anyone still following, I want to give an update.

After finishing the book, my health declined. We don't know why, but once I got better, I started writing again. Small short stories that I started working to translate to English so I could share them here.

In September of 2024 however, I got Covid and it hit me hard. Damaged me neurologically as well as triggered a dormant asthma I didn't know I had. I have slowly lost freedom to live independently and require a lot of help from my fiance with house chores, am unable to work and have been on sick leave since getting Covid.

Anything I do makes me tired. Taking a shower requires a nap afterwards, and some days I need 4 naps just to have energy to eat. Everything comes with a price, be it social visits, doctors appointments or simply doing the dishes. I wake up the next day in pain all over my body, brain feeling like I have a hungover and I am drained of even the energy to speak or text. Pain medications do nothing so I either use ice gels or frozen peas to soothe the pain.

Bloodworks show a chronic inflammation, Rheumatoid arthritis has been ruled out, and it's looking like this is either fibromyalgia or ME/CFS (Myalgic Eecephalomyelitis or commonly called the chronic fatigue syndrome).

I love to write and I love to read. Even now my e-reader is my escape from this every day. Iona and Egil and Gyda and Viggo are all still in my mind and I want to give Gyda the story that has been running wild in my brain, but I'm still learning to listen to this new body I'm in, the body that doesn't warn me I'm crossing a line and should take it easy, but I should just know to take it easy from the start and stop even when I feel I can do it.

All of this is to say, thank you for reading their story this far, and I hope I can give you all Gydas story at some point ❤️

Take care of yourselves, value your health, listen to your body's needs. Much love,
          Roosa

@roosapetra also there is a typo. It is myalgic encephalomyelitis. Cause is unknown but the number of diagnoses spiked post-Covid in patients who had in the last few years, had a severe viral or bacterial infection.

Heyy I know your book was made a while ago but I just want to say great work! I hope you're doing better these days. This I'd the first fic I've read where the romance was fufilling and wholesome. Thank you!

I'm a mother, to a son at that, and I lost a baby before him that was the product of rape and abuse, I was forced to miscarry by him, and I lost the baby really early on, I just wanted to say. Thank you. Thank you. So much, for the way you wrote this story. Words cannot express how grateful I am, to read my life in your words and for you to have done to my abuser what I wish I could do. I hope you receive many blessings ❤

Do you know when you will start posting the next story?

jENNIE68

@roosapetra still a very enjoyable read, though. And you should take care of you first.

@jENNIE68 sadly no. I have bits and pieces of several chapters done for The second book, but my life took a huge turn during the first book so I had to put My health first and still do. Its The very reason why The first book was so short :(

Hello my lovely followers!

When I first started writing about Iona, I always had a vision of making it a trilogy. I still want to do that, but as you all know, The World, my life along with it has been hectic.

Do any of you still wish for me to continue the trilogy? The next book would be Gyda's story. Focusing on her Journey of healing, as was with Iona.

If you do, which would you prefer for her mate to be like? Gentle and protective like Egil, or more rough around the edges? I have many ideas for both, but Im unsure which way to go since I don't want to write a book where people are thinking "oh this is so mainstream, so predictable".

I want to wow you, make you guys feel what Gyda feels simply by reading.

          Stay healthy ❤️

          -Roosa

@ roosapetra Loved Iona's story. Full with everything it should, and a very nice cliff that makes me wonder when you will start. With Gyda's Journey that is. You should do what You feel is fitting. Thank you and Thank You.

@roosapetra Thank you for sharing your imagination with us. I look forward to reading your mental meanderings. You have brought to life an amazingly colorful and vibrant world. The characters that inhabit that world are rich and full. They say making people laugh is easy but to make someone cry is art, your tale brought me to tears on more than one occasion. Trust in yourself and your imagination, this is a great adventure and it deserves to be heard. So relax and let your fingers be lead by your muse.
Once again thanks for all the blood, sweat, and tears.

@roosapetra I personally would LOVE for you to expand on Gyda. This story is one of my favorites! I read it over and over! You are a wonderful writer and one of the few that makes sure the history is accurate, which is very refreshing! And I think Gyda would be best with someone on the softer side but super protective and patient. But no matter what you choose, I know it will be amazing! Can't wait to read more!
