I was born with a congenital heart defect in Michigan.  After graduating from Arizona State, I moved to California to teach special education.  After leaving teaching, I worked a plethora of jobs (a great way to say job hopped).  After working in the disability field for over 10 years, I saw that there weren't many fiction books or other media projects that were about people with disabilities, created by people with disabilities.
