I'm not sure if this is something I'd want to post on wp, but basically, today was the worst day of my life, until I met a goldie named Benji this evening while I was out on my run. He was just sitting there, on the track, refusing to move, while his owner tried everything to get him up, and I couldn't help but chuckle. The owner noticed and she told me how he was a two year old but acted like a baby. Then as I said hi to him he got up and ran in circles, followed by an attempted jump at me, and he was so excited!!!!! it made my heart melt honestly, best thing that's happened to me in a while :,,)

!!!!important: hey, it's been a while since i've posted anything mcyt related and that's because ... well, there's no point in beating around the bush so to put it straight, the toxicity in the fandom is just something i couldn't handle after a breaking point and it was adversely affecting my mental health, so i decided to take a break from it. don't get me wrong, there are amazing people i've met thanks to this fandom, and some of my favourite books are mcyt related. it's been over a month since i've left the fandom for good and i only occasionally tune in to older videos and feel so so much better now.it took me a while to come to terms with the fact that i was not enjoying the fandom as i used to, being a dream stan then, but once i did, i felt SO relieved. thank you so much for the memories, the good and the bad, as they've helped me grow as a person and thank you to all the friends i've made and love with my whole heart <3

@rosesbetweenthighs that's completely understandable. it's really important to do the thing that's good for your mental health above everything else. the good always comes with the bad, and large fandoms almost always come with a lot of toxicity. i get how horribly it can affect people, and it's even caused me to consider leaving mutltiple fandoms more than once. within the mcyt (or more specifically in my case, the dsmp) fandom itself, the toxicity can sometimes become impossible to handle, and at that point it's really important to do what's best for your mental health (if it's impacting you negatively), even if it means distancing yourself from the fandom. i'm glad to see you doing what's important for yourself and your mental health, and i hope you all the best for the future <3

@rosesbetweenthighs it's always important to put your mental health before everything else, so i think that it was really admirable that you were able to make the decision to leave the fandom although it was something that did make you happy at a point of time in your life. the toxicity in the fandom is not something that is a secret among it's members leaving the fandom because of it is also not unjustified :)) so I'm so glad that you have taken the road to heal your mental health, and I wish you all the luck in continuing to do so in the future <3
