PLEASE READ!!!
plagiarism can be defined by ‘the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.’
it has been brought to my attention that a reader of my book has published a story which plagiarises mine.
i have read only the character page so far and it’s very clear to me that it is not taking inspiration from my book but attempting to mimic it.
that is plagiarism at its finest.
taking inspiration from someone is totally fine but if the story is too familiar on the character page alone, that tells you all you need to know.
it has also been brought to my attention that some of you have commented on this book, pointing out its similarities to mine.
i would like to emphasise that this person is not exhibiting fan behaviour. sure, i am flattered that my story is good enough that people want to make it their own. but you see, i will not stand for that.
in fact, i make it very clear at the beginning of my book that i will not stand for that. the beauty of my story — whether The Lost or SUCKER PUNCH — is that it is unique.
they have also lied about when they started their book, as the description states 2023 but the parts are all published from oct 2025 onwards, unless they republished to mirror my story even more.
i am not going to publicly call this person out. i am not going to immediately message this person and demand that they remove their book. they follow me, and they have been for some time, and i am going to give them a chance to acknowledge this statement before i take further action.
i love that you love my book, but this is not how you express it.
sincerely, rosie
