            Aurinko continued to hum, her fingers still stroking through his hair in a soothing manner. She was smiling softly, trying to help him relax into sleep. 

after  a  moment  his  eyes  fluttered  shut  and  he  took  a  deep  breath  in  and  let  it  out.  as  she  began  to  hum  he  focused  on  the  soft  melody  and  it  was  very  relaxing.

            She smiled, her fingers now stroking through his hair.” Good. Then just close your eyes and focus on my voice.” With that, she started to hum a lullaby, the same one her mother had hummed for her as a child.

            “Of course.” She offered him a smile before getting back to work mopping. She got the floor of the kitchen clean once more before moving into the hall to clean up the footprints leading from the door.

✶     she rolled her eyes a little, bumping his shoulder with hers.
            
            “because,” she said, drawing the word out like it should've been obvious, “if i go alone i'll end up stuck talking to a bunch of idiots all night.”
            
            her lips curled into a small grin as she glanced over at him. “and you owe me. remember? i went to that painfully boring history of psychopaths forum thing with you last week.”
            
            she nudged him again, lighter this time, leaning into his side, “c'mon, doug. you don't even have to stay long. just show up, keep me company for a bit, and if it sucks we can ditch together.”

  ⁽  doug  wasn't  a  huge  party  sort  of  guy,  sure  a  hangout  with  a  couple  of  friends  but  a  full  on  house  party.ᐣ  wasn't  exactly  his  scene.  sighing  deeply  he  nodded.  ⁾  oh  alright.  i  really  don't  know  why  you  want  me  to  come  with  you  so  bad.
