"You don't know who you are yet."

"You need to get out there and find yourself.", I've been told. 

It's like I'm not here. Like my real self is somewhere in Caribbean scuba diving or climbing at the top of Mount Everest, or, heck, even recording the next music hit! Like the real me couldn't possibly be the one with entire fantasy worlds laid out in her head, or the one that always walks around with a notebook to scrabble down everything that inspires her. 

Truth is, though, I know exactly who I am. I always have.

 I'm the girl you will find in the corner of the room singing along to her iPod though she sucks at singing. I'm the girl that is always writing or daydreaming of her stories and ideas. I'm the girl who has so many books that she had to replace her small library with a bigger one twice. I'm the girl that couldn't live if there weren't any books. I'm the girl who gets bored so easily that she has tried out six sports and one music instrument. I'm the 'antisocial weirdo' who stays up all night, not crying, but creating. I'm creative. I'm lazy. I'm insecure. But, I'm me. And that can't change. Because life isn't about finding yourself, but creating it.
