I was watching The Crown last night (it's a good show, even if it's sometimes loose about timelines), an episode about how the family responded to the lunar landing in 1969.
It made me reflect on the mission myself, something I do frequently. Almost any time I look at the moon in the sky, I'm inspired that we, as humanity, built a machine to take us up there and back down safely. I wasn't around back then, and I know it's fairly common to take these things for granted or not even think about them nowadays given how far technology has come, but it still inspires me.
And I think that inspiration is partly why I write.
