            *He didn’t move away when she touched his scar. He was used to Natasha’s gentle touch across his scars, remembering the first time he let her run her hands over and trace them* Tried to do the right thing while mentally being in a shit place. The altercation went south. . The best way I can describe it is I lost it and this is the scar I got from it. 

(Absentmindedly examining the altered piece of skin,  she hummed in response--  attempting to recall such a conversation)  Messy situation?  I’m listening.  That is,  if you feel comfortable enough to share.

            Hmmm. . This one? Got this sometime after I escaped. Got into a messy situation. I’m surprised you hadn’t noticed it before 

(Following pursed lips and an exhale,  she reluctantly nods her head--  gathering the courage to recall the horrific event which manifested itself into her consciousness)  It won’t do me any good to hold it all in.

            I’m sorry Nat- I guess I wasn’t thinking much about my shoes or the floors coming home rather I was thinking more about having to tend to my wounds *he watched her run to grab the cleaning supplies and clean up his mess* Yes ma’am *he quickly undid his boots, leaving them halfway in the hallway as he made his way to the bathroom* 

Why not clean it  BEFORE  setting foot in my apartment??  (Throwing her blanket aside,  she pushed herself off of the loveseat and nearly sprinted to the kitchen to fetch some cleaning supplies)  You  KNOW  how I feel about dirt.  And…  germs…  (Crouching to her knees,  she began unscrewing a bottle of cleaning product)  Just take the boots off.  Please.

            *he could already tell the panic was rising in her. He gently placed a hand on either other sides to try and ground her* hey, hey, I’m right here okay? *he used his words to try and soothe her panicking, quickly reaching the zipper at the base of her neck and pulling it down, relieving her of the tight body suit* see, it’s open, it’s coming off, you’re safe, you’re here *his words continued as he further helped her undress, pulling the suit down her shoulders and off of her arms* 

(Clawing at the latex material,  she felt her heart rate rapidly increase--  flooding into her ears at a deafening volume)  Mhm,,  (Words were unable to form,  so a simple hum and a nod was all she could manage.  Swallowing thickly,  she turned her back to James to allow him to slip off the outfit.  It was a simple function which allowed her to disrobe or suit up fairly quickly--  however,  in this moment of panic she was unable to achieve this simple task)

            *he hadn’t expected her to question why her opinion mattered to him. The question left him stunned as he tried to come up with an answer* I- *he muttered out, clearing his throat as he followed her and took a seat beside her* because you care about me and I care about you. . I value your opinion because it’s unbiased and you know things better than I do. . . You know me better than myself. . 

Oh really?  How come?  (She made her way into the room completely,  abandoning the doorway in which she once occupied.  She sensed a full conversation brewing,  and wanted to sit comfortably during it)

This wasn’t the first time he had an emotional outburst and cut his hair and had to get her to fix it* thank you. . Really. You know I don’t care about other peoples opinion but yours is one that matters to me
