Shivya trembled as tears streamed down her cheeks. She found herself sitting on the cold floor, pleading with her newlywed husband, Gautham.

Gautham's eyes were ablaze with anger. He responded in a hoarse voice, "If this was an act, you're in it for life, you little..." It had only been five days since their wedding, and his frustration was palpable.

She spoke in a shaky voice "I can't have sex with you or live as your wife. I just can't do it. Please, let me go."

          Gauthamwas fueled by anger.

" If he had not blackmailed me, I would never have married you. You can never be my husband."

"What is wrong with me? I am handsome, well-educated, and from a decent family. What does else does your heart crave?"

She confessed, "My heart is the problem. I don't have it with me anymore. I gave my heart to someone long ago, and I am in no way ashamed of it."

He pressed on, "Gave heart to someone, my foot. You are still a virgin, right? I am least bothered about where your heart is. "

Shivya replied, "you have no right to ask about my virginity. It's none of your business. And I've clearly told you I can't be your wife."

"Tell me, are you pure or not?" he insisted.

Her voice tinged with sorrow, responded, "My heart, soul, my virtue – none of it belongs to me anymore. I have lost it to someone to whom I promised I would spend the rest of my life. If not for you and my family, I would never be in this place." She said with burdened heart, and her eyes revealed the pain of separation from her beloved.

He slapped her numerous times, pushed her to the ground, and inflicted pain upon her. Shivya closed her eyes, whispering a name – "Josh".
