real late update to the new truck situation:
we didn’t get the Malibu, we bought a 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage instead! :)
I named her Elowyn. She’s red, she’s adorable, and to most people she’s downright ugly because she’s a 10th gen but this truck is my baby. I’ll protect that little thing with my LIFE. she does have a PO171 code which is “fuel too lean”, bank 1, she goes in soon to get that fixed along with some new rims and tires. hers has a hairline crack that I don’t trust whatsoever. she fits in perfectly with my odd little truck family, and Bubba, surprisingly, absolutely loves her.
a nice update on River Rat, too:
so uh, she has no fluids. at all. we’re planning on going soon (sometime this week) to get them all, re-watch some Chris Fix videos on YouTube on how to change all her nonexistent fluids, and get her fixed up and running like a top again. I’m oddly proud of her because we didn’t know she was running on E on every fluid, and we drove her 18 minutes to town and back, TWICE. she also made it about 3 towns away and back, a 30 minute drive there and back.
she didn’t have power steering fluid, engine oil, brake fluid, antifreeze, coolant, etc.
you can’t say OBS Chevys aren’t bulletproof.
that truck has seen some things.
