            ~  a good cook. he learned from his older sister.
            
            ~  back on the suvituuli  ,  the beads placed in your hair had meaning. you attached one for those you cared for  ,  a representation of your affection. the color has no true meaning  ,  but asking someone to choose one is said to be proper. he has a clear one for his eldest brother ( cove )  ,  and a small seashell for the second eldest – his sister ( mira ). then he has a dark blue one for his younger brother ( casp ). he once had two black ones for his parents  ,  but he removed them after they started to look at him differently. the bead he gave to his siblings are all made from sea glass. 
            
            ~  if he asks you to choose a bead to add to his hair  ,  it means he truly cares for you. if he offers you a bead of his own  ,  he wholeheartedly trusts you.

            PERSONALITY :  he has an endless amount of patience. calm in the face of anger and tragedy. accepting of every outcome  ,  even if it's a negative one. his boat could sink and he would only focus on which way he needed to swim to get to land. he easily gets over things  ,  never one to overthink  ,  or hold a grudge.  to him  ,  everything that happens has a purpose  ,  even if it takes awhile to see what it is.
            
            ~  he is fully human. he just has an affinity with the ocean. he doesn't actually hear it talk  ,  but he can communicate via the feeling it gives off.
            
            ~  a man of few words. not one to speak full sentences. tends to use motions alongside his words.
            
            ~  his boats name is grasp. “gra” from the graph in cartographer and “asp” from casp  –  his younger brothers name
            
            ~  loves discovering new parts of the sea.
            
            ~  sometimes he'll jump into the ocean willingly  ,  as a way of properly paying a visit.  no matter the state of the waves he always ends up back at his ship.
            
            ~  was sixteen when he fell overboard. was eighteen when he was kicked off the suvituuli.
            
            ~  misses his siblings. he hasn't seen them in a decade. he can only hope they're okay.
            
            ~  doesn't exactly say they're his pets  ,  but he often has varying types of birds perched on his ship. 
            
            ~  his ship is a decent size. it could hold a few more people other than himself  ,  he just hasn't found anyone to invite into it.

            WAKING UP  was difficult.  it still felt as if he was being pushed to the bottom of the ocean.  the lack of waves was disappointing rather than relieving.  but the look of relief on his siblings face was enough to pull him out of the daydream.  it was a miracle that he made it back to them  –  that's what everyone said.  no one would believe him if he said the ocean brought him back  ,  so he kept that thought to himself.
            
            RETURNING  was  …  odd.  the experience changed him  ,  anyone could see it.  once endlessly energetic  ,  now a quiet solemness.  a calm replacing what was once a nervous  ,  out of place boy.
            
            HE SOON  left everyone on edge.  his predictions became even more accurate.  from the direction of the wind  ,  how they needed to position the sails  ,  which way they needed to set course.  a gift  ,  a curse.  was the man before them the same as the one who had fallen overboard?  what if this was merely a copy?  were they being tricked?
            
            HIS SIBLINGS  pleaded for the others to listen.  it was comforting  ,  knowing they still cared despite all of the rumors.  their actions were futile though.  he already knew he would soon be kicked off the ship.
            
            SAILING  alone was a new experience  ,  but not an unwelcome one.  it was refreshing being able to control his ship without being questioned.  now  ,  sailing a one - man ship  ,  he dedicates his life to mapping out the world.
