/ tbh i think it’s interesting how a majority of the older figures in cassie’s life only ever saw her as a weapon: ares, zeus, and, to an extent, the amazons. instead of seeing her for the child that she was, they turned her into a weapon.
cassie had her girlhood torn apart, and it came back as a beast in her womanhood. /
after thinking about this further, i want to add onto it by saying that diana and donna are possibly the only people in cassie’s life that saw her as both a child and a weapon. however, they chose to nurture, teach, and love cassie as she is instead of seeing her as a tool or too young. this is why donna’s death hits cassie so hard, because rarely, does cassie feel understood by anyone the way she did with donna. it’s also why cassie reaches out to diana so much, because she idolizes and trusts diana explicitly. even well into her adult years, cassie still looks up to diana, which is both a bad thing and a good thing.
they never tried to make cassie be something that she isn’t; they wanted her to be a kid, but also wanted her to understand the responsibility and weight she has taken upon herself by choosing to fight against injustice and evil. they loved her, nurtured her, taught her lessons that would eventually save her life and others’ lives.
these two women influenced cassie so much, they’re probably a majority of the reason why cassie is as good as she is.
