The best thing to do after a breakup is throw yourself into work, I’ve found. I put out a new chapter of Helium and I’ve been grinding working on a new chapter of The Mess We’ve Made. This process sucks but I’m creating space for new experiences. Wish me luck :)

Hey! I see you haven’t been active in a while, but I really hope this message reaches you.
I’ve been in a huge writer’s block. Like, seriously huge. Just like you might be in right now. But don’t worry! I’m sure we’ll both be able to fix it.
I’m getting out of the point, sorry. What I wanted to say was that I a, reading your story, Say my name, and I’ve been loving the way you wrote it. Not just for the plot (that’s also amazing) or the characters, but especially your writing style, the words you choose, the character you made out of Jisung. I am loving it.
And that’s it. Sometimes we all need words of appreciation, sincere ones, so instead of just following you and saying “you seem nice”, I wanted to share this opinion about your story.
If it was a book I’d definitely buy it.
Thanks for letting me (us all) read it.

@sapphicstellar Dear Scarlett, just like you said, your works and yourself don't need to be perfect right now, because you're just experimenting, and that what matters at the moment is concistency. You'll worry about perfection in the future. I completely agree with you: right now consistency is one of the most important things. But...what do you mean with perfection?
To me, perfection is what feels like it is. I's very subjective, there's nothing in the world that, from everyone's point of view, is perfect.
So, what I'm trying to tell you here is to always seek for perfection, but the kind of perfection that makes you feel good. Non the one who makes you stay up at night, that makes you sure you wrote a sentence's grammar right, but the one that, when you look at what you've done, allows you to think "This thing is beautiful just like the process I had to follow to achieve this".
It's just a thought from one of your thousands of readers, but... I suggest you to be careful with your goals. In the end, all we want is to be happy.
Work hard for you and for your future books, Scarlett.
            All the love <33

Hi. My name is Scarlett. To you and to anyone that may read this, I want to thank you for reading my work from the bottom of my heart. I keep telling myself I’ve been stuck in a writers block for around two years but I’ve gained some clarity recently and realized that I was just stuck in a negative feedback loop of my own volition. I kept thinking that I needed to change everything to keep moving forward without recognizing the importance of my present writing. The things I’m writing right now don’t need to be perfect, they aren’t books yet. I plan for them to be published works one day but they’re not anywhere near there yet and I need to stop treating them and myself like they are. I expect perfection when what I really should be expecting is consistency. I won’t improve if I don’t push through. I’ve learned the lesson of perseverance. I hope I can continue to publish writing that makes you all feel something. Thank you for reading my writing.

Guess who saw Chuu live last night! (Spoiler: It was me.) She sounds like she does in the studio. Easily one of the best live vocalists I’ve seen along with Vic Fuentes from Pierce the Veil and Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens.

I used to be so good about responding to all of my notifications but ever since Wattpad starting doing that thing where it logs you out and you have to clear it out and go back in to be logged in, I barely get notifications. It’s bogus. I told myself id never be one of those authors that ignores my readers but now I can’t even tell when they’re commenting half the time
