I am a writer currently living in the Bay Area.  I lived in Berlin, German for 6 and a half years, and my book about parenting kids there ACHTUNG BABY is coming out in January 2018.  I also write fiction. I used to have vague notions of writing the great American novel. Then, I realized that I loved writing about reluctant dragons, girls who sprouted roots from their feet, and punks who were really water gods.

My novel, The First, is a young adult fantasy containing some of those strange elements. I have a few short stories running around as well, two of which are here. I also have a neglected blog that likes to suddenly spring to life like some sort of zombie phoenix.
