Hello!
My name is Ashley, and I’m a Ph.D. student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m reaching out because I’m evaluating a program, called Recognize & Resist, for One Direction fanfiction writers.
Recognize & Resist is a four-chapter “course” that takes a closer look at how romantic relationships and sex are portrayed in One Direction fanfiction and explores how writers can use their fanfiction to help create a positive influence in the 1D fan community on Wattpad.
I’m looking for One Direction fanfiction writers who are at least 15 years old to read Recognize & Resist and give their feedback to help me improve the program. Would you be interested in participating in this research?
This is a research study. In order to participate in this study, you must be above the age of 15, and you must be actively in the process of writing a One Direction fanfiction story.
I have been in contact with Wattpad and have their approval to conduct this study. If you would like to verify this, please contact tom@wattpad.com
To participate in this study, you would read Recognize & Resist (estimated reading time: 1.5 to 2 hours), complete a brief survey (about 5 minutes) and participate in a one hour interview or focus group. As a thank you for your time, you will receive $50 for participating in this study.
