While researching the story of Hades and Persephone, I came across this interesting excerpt from Nikita Gill.
• [Hades to Persephone]
I sensed you before I saw you,
the sugar flavoured of meadow
wrapped in nectar in the air
in my eyes search for the source.
Your face was the answer
of what I had been waiting for
through cold lonely years.
You stepped into my world
like a star bursting
in front of an astronomer’s telescope.
Tell me, with all those specks on your skin,
did anyone tell you that you were a constellation
waiting to be loved and explored?
• [Persephone to Hades]
You are the kindest thing
that ever happened to me,
even if that is not how our tale is told.
When everyone else told me
I was destined to be a forgotten nymph
that turned flowers and turned meadows,
You saw that the ichor
that resides in me
demanded its own throne.
You showed me
how a love like ours
can turn even the darkest, coldest realm
into the happiest of homes.
