i’ve been thinking abt dune a lot lately and i’ll always be a fem!paul fic hater.

@MERESIER exactly!!! it’s over done, bad, and makes no sense. like you said, jessica’s love is a big part of the story and if she had a daughter instead, it’d shift the dynamics and story. so. yeah.

it doesn't lend itself to an interesting story because it weakens a lot of people's motive, especially Jessica's which is quite literally love for Leto. i think one of the few ways it could work is an analysis of the BG conditioning (and perhaps how they plan to get a harkonnen and atreides together) but even that is overdone. paul is an anomaly, and that is what breaks that thousand years of stagnany that is literally what dune is all about.

ppl just can’t get it right. if paul was a girl, she would just be a random girl who has a bigger role in the bene gesserit plan but nothing else. she wouldn’t be the kwisatz haderach. she wouldn’t be special to the known universe. the only version i’ve liked so far is the route ‘dune: awakening’ has gone with and that’s it
