i loooved that andor addressed the fact that the galaxy wasn’t just suddenly under the galactic empire’s control. it all started with the galactic republic — it was just the better option of two evils ( ps. obviously, the galactic republic itself wasn’t evil like the empire, but the corruption and greed helped the shift from the republic to the empire )

democracy always wins!!! i’d choose the galactic republic over the empire any day every day!!! but we can see in the clone wars, how the just war theory works even w the republic. aaand i think we all know that a war is never the right option ( i might be some sort of pacifist so ig call me whatever u want ), and it’s shown in the series!!! people don’t want the republic’s war against the separatists!!! they want the jedi to be peacekeepers, to help others!!! not fight wars that will inevitably destroy many planets and kills thousands!!!
            
            and in andor we see, that the empire wasn’t the one to start destroying ecosystems and killing thousands. kenari was mined until the planet became toxic, an environmental collapse happened, and all but some children died. and this was all preventable. the republic was doing the same in kenari as the empire was planning to do in ghorman ( without the planned genocide. )

i looove the idea that there has been multiple rebellious tributes in different games throughout the years, but it was just never the right time before katniss. idk. it just makes sense.

it changes our perspective on the games and certainly on the characters. such a genius thing to include and just shows that rebellion takes years and years until the timing is right

a couple changes in two worlds apart!
          
          yvette’s last name is now wallach, meaning she’s part of house wallach ( a semi-canon house ). she and paul both are 15 as well, following the book timeline. 
          
          aaaand it’ll be almost fully based on the book, with some details from the movies ( mostly the change in chani’s character cos i enjoyed the movie version much better. )
          
          
          hopefully i’ll start updating that fic soon!!
